Nomination submission
A nomination is not automatically accepted because it has been submitted. The AE Awards Planning Committee reserves the right to verify information, request additional documentation, reject ineligible submissions, and place an eligible nominee in a more appropriate category, subject to notification.
Category administration
- A nominee may qualify for more than one category when all applicable requirements are satisfied.
- Awards recognize eligible-period achievements rather than social media popularity alone.
- Verified commercial results, audience reach, and professional recognition may support judging but should not automatically determine a winner.
- For groups, collaborative works, and organizations, the committee must establish that the relevant creative or professional contribution satisfies the category’s geographic and cultural requirements.
- The committee may withhold an award if no eligible entry meets the required standards, provided this rule is communicated before judging.
- The committee may investigate material misrepresentation, fraudulent submissions, or manipulated voting, applying documented and consistent procedures.
Regional classification
For the Global Awards, the five regional divisions are West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, North Africa, and Central Africa.
Southern Africa includes countries across the Southern African region, not solely South Africa. The AE Awards Planning Committee will maintain an official country classification and apply it consistently across music and acting categories. Applicants with connections to more than one region should identify their qualifying connection, subject to committee verification.
